Patient and Visitor Violence: What Do We Know? What Can We Do?

"Measurement and Monitoring of Healthcare Worker Aggression Exposure," by Joanne DeSanto Iennaco, Jane Dixon, Robin Whittemore, Susan H. Busch, Len Bowers, and Lawrence Scahill, provides an overview of aggression exposure in health care and reviews challenges of common measures of aggression.
"A Framework for Translating Workplace Violence Intervention Research into Evidence-Based Programs," by Kathleen M. McPhaul, Matthew London, and Jane A. Lipscomb, notes that addressing violence in health care requires very purposeful organizational processes conducted by very specific organizational structures.
"Workplace Violence in Healthcare: Strategies for Advocacy," by AnnMarie Papa and Jeanne Venella, provides a brief overview of workplace violence by discussing settings where aggression often occurs and direct and indirect financial impacts of violent acts.
